How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on Microsoft

Download and install the Authenticator App from your device's App Store.

Log in to your account on the Microsoft website, go to "Security" settings, and select "Advanced security options".

If the "Two-step verification" status in "Additional security" is "OFF", click "Turn on" and proceed to Step 4;
if it is already "ON", please proceed directly to Step 12.

Click the "Next" button.

Notice: Choose "An App", then click "set up a different Authenticator app".

In this step, a QR code containing the secret key is displayed. Next, you need to use our Authenticator App to scan this QR code. Please keep this popup open.

Open our Authenticator App, click the + button at the top-right of the screen, then hold your device near the computer screen to scan the QR code.

After successfully scanning, a 6-digit code will appear in your App. Note that this code refreshes every 30 seconds.

Return to the Microsoft webpage, enter the 6-digit code generated in the previous step, and click "Next".

Click the "Next" button on the webpage.

Click the "Finish" button to complete the basic setup of two-step verification.

Now, you have successfully set up two-step verification for your Microsoft account. From now on, when you attempt to sign in to this Microsoft account, you will need to use our Authenticator App to get verification codes.

If in Step 2 you found "Two-step verification" was already enabled, please click "Add a new way to sign in or verify" to set up 2FA.

In the popup options, select "Use an app".

Notice: Click on "set up a different Authenticator app" here. Then refer to Steps 5-11 to complete the setup.
